Just as our human body deserves to be treated with respect and dignity in life, so should it be treated in death. Burial of the deceased's body or ashes in a Catholic cemetery shows respect for what God has created. For the living, Catholic cemeteries provide familiar symbols of faith which can offer spiritual support in a time of bereavement. It is a place where family and friends can gather in prayer to support one another and to commend their loved ones to the mercy of our God.
As people of faith, our burial places have an important meaning for us, since they are sacred places. Each visit to the cemetery can be a reminder of the love, fellowship and faith we shared with those who have died. It is also a reminder of our own mortality and our firm belief in the Resurrection of the dead.
Today you will be with Me in Paradise, says the Lord Jesus. - Luke 23:43

St. Thomas Aquinas Church, International Falls, is proud to announce it has been awarded a Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant on behalf of St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery is very excited to have received this Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant, because it will allow us to continue to invest in our cemetery in new ways. This grant allows us to invest in cemetery management software that will ensure the historic preservation and digitization of our cemetery records well into the future. This grant will have a significant impact on past, present, and future generations of Koochiching County as we work to preserve the records of those who came before us and the legacy they left behind.
This project has been financed in part with funds provided by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.
